Who I Am

Theatre as a language people listen to.

I am an Indian theatre director, performer and playwright with over a decade of practice and 40+ stage and street productions. I convene the JNU Drama Club at Jawaharlal Nehru University, and in 2025 the Government of India honoured me with the National Youth Icon Award for Excellence in Theatre & Performance.

I direct canonical Indian and world drama, from Tendulkar, Manto and Karnad to Mahasweta Devi, Camus and Badal Sarkar, and build socially-engaged theatre for Government ministries, the WWF and national platforms, including a theatre-based training for the Delhi Police ahead of the G20. A doctoral scholar of power and performance, I treat the stage as a way for a society to speak to itself.

  • Ministries & agencies: Environment (Mission LIFE), Health, Narcotics Control Bureau
  • Institutions: WWF India, TERI, NIEPA, School of Planning & Architecture
  • UN observances: Clean Air, Indigenous Peoples, Sign Languages, Monuments & Sites
